Please join us for a donation-based workshop on the art of pysanky writing. Sarah Bachinger - a Ukrainian-American artist, will teach the traditional Ukrainian techniques and patterns of writing pysanky taught to her by her Baba many years ago. You are also invited to donate your pysanky creations to the Pysanky For Peace Project, which is working to raise funds for Ukrainian organizations providing humanitarian support on the ground in Ukraine, as well as exhibition opportunities.

The art of pysanky writing dates back to the ancient cultures of Ukraine. It has been said that if enough pysanky are created each year, it strengthens the chain that holds back evil from taking over the world. It is with these ancestral beliefs, sharing the knowledge of Ukrainian culture, and the unfolding war in Ukraine - the Pysanky For Peace Project was created.

All materials will be provided by Sarah. A donation on a sliding scale of what you can afford is requested, and 100% of the donations will be going directly to the local 518Ukrainians/UCCA group as they are in need of donations to help ship the over 18,000 pounds of medical supplies that were recently donated to aid those affected by the war in Ukraine. Details on how to send donations will be shared with participants.
